“Work is a necessity for the vast majority of people to earn money for a comfortable life for them and their families. A debilitating spinal cord injury can turn an ordinary job into a daily ordeal which saps all of your energy. It can often leave someone exhausted at the end of the day, with no energy to do the normal daily activities. This often makes it impossible to enjoy life with evenings and weekends required to rest and recuperate to get ready for work the next week.”

If work adjustments and adaptations in the workplace are not sufficient it can be necessary for someone to change their job. Some people find that, even after changing their hours, they can’t manage to achieve a reasonable balance and it may not be reasonable for them to continue working at all. “
