Louise is well known for representing children with birth injury claims, where she has recovered awards, which will assist them and their families in securing appropriate support for the rest of their lives. She also has significant experience in representing families at inquests many of which have involved the death of a child. She has also dealt with claims involving delayed diagnosis particularly cancer.

She has been recognised in the Legal 500 for a number of years as a leading practitioner in her field.
Louise joined Shoosmiths in 2024 from Wilson Browne Solicitors, where she was head of the medical negligence team.
She is a member of the Northamptonshire Law Society, the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel and the AvMA (Action against Medical Accidents) Panel, and a former Secretary of the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers (SCIL). Her membership of the specialist panels recognises her experience and confirms her expertise in representing clients with clinical negligence claims.
Work highlights
- Represented the family of Jack Adcock deceased at Inquest and in the negligence claim. This case was widely reported as it involved the death of a little boy and the Dr went on to the face a criminal conviction
- Successfully secured a large 8 figure settlement for a little boy whose birth was delayed. As a result he suffered a lack of oxygen to the brain which resulted in a diagnosis of cerebral palsy which severely affected him to the extent he would need 24hour care for life.
- Acted for a young girl who had been blinded as a result of delayed treatment for retinopathy of prematurity at birth. I secured substantial compensation for her to assist he for the rest of her life.
- Secured compensation for my client and his 2 children following the death of his wife during child birth. Also represented the family at the Inquest.
