Prior to joining the legal profession, Victoria studied Medical Sciences and Humanities (BSc Hons) and gained experience with hospitalised patients, vulnerable children and adults through voluntary work. Having enjoyed the legal and ethical aspect of medicine, Victoria completed the GDL and LPC with the aim of working on medical cases.
Victoria joined Shoosmiths in October 2019 as a paralegal and has been assisting on cases with a range of medical negligence issues, involving surgical error, spinal orthopaedic injuries, injuries occurring during labour including stillbirths or baby deaths, failure to diagnose/treat cancer or other conditions resulting in complications or fatalities.
Victoria had previously gained legal experience by assisting with the conduct of Court of Protection cases. Victoria has been involved in health and welfare proceedings before the Court of Protection focusing on cases concerning deprivation of liberty issues and community care issues, financial abuse of those who lack mental capacity, Statutory Wills applications and management of Personal Injury Trusts and Deputyship cases.
